Who Makes Life Abundant

Hoi Chiu

Through sand painting, the movie tells us the story of Kong and Ming (meaning “Light” and “Bright” in Chinese) about the bygones in their childhood. Born and nurtured in Yim Tin Tsai, the brothers-in-arms built a profound relationship with this pristine land.

Kong left for the United Kingdom to find a job and went through life’s ups and downs. When he brought his family back to Yim Tin Tsai, he met Ming again. Though much has changed, the little things from the past still haunted him. Kong decided to stay on the island, joining other villagers and like-minded people to implement the revitalisation plan for the hometown.

Artist’s Biography

As a renowned sand painting artist in Hong Kong, Hoi Chiu has received international recognition for his skills. Having created a music video for local singer Eason Chan and popularised sand art in Hong Kong, Hoi Chiu has demonstrated his many talents for puppetry, painting and stage performances over the years through the cooperation with government departments, television and electronic media and even international events. He created a promotional video for the Hong Kong government to promote Hong Kong.
